So what’s the program, and what do I get?

The Construction Accounting & Management Program (CAMP) is a monthly subscription-style training program that we’ve designed to provide “something for everyone”.  Below you’ll see a chart that overviews the different levels and types of monthly classes, seminars, interviews, and consulting sessions we are creating for you.

Why 3 Different Levels?

Initially we considered offering individual seminars, but “hit & miss” is just NOT the best way to learn accounting and/or financial management concepts!  As in math courses, proficiency in accounting & software is typically acquired through an integrated and sequential “building block” learning process.  Because we’ve found that individuals generally fall into one of the 3 levels of expertise shown below, we established 3 broad, integrated learning tracks – bronze, silver and gold.

However, we’ve also learned over the last 15+ years of coaching and training construction accounting (in seminars and for individual clients), that there can be a lot of cross-over in these levels.  I.e.,:

• Individuals at beginner levels are capable of learning advanced accounting and financial management concepts if the information is properly presented.

• Employees at advanced levels often make exciting new discoveries and pick up time-saving techniques when they are exposed to some of our “core concept” materials.  Their journey up the knowledge ladder still provides opportunities for improvement in basic skills, and reminders to re-implement tried-and-true basics can be extremely valuable.

• Company owners & management-level employees typically obtain significant benefits from participating not only from the top-down level, but from getting into the bottom-up nitty-gritty of what their accounting systems are capable of providing.  Periodically taking the time for close encounters with accounting features and concepts can stimulate the implementation of new and better measurement and productivity systems.

In short, each person is unique, and brings different skills sets, needs, experiences, and perspectives to the table.  And companies are comprised of these unique individuals, each of whom is capable of jumping into the information flow at their current level of understanding.

Continuing Education credits

NARI (the National Association of the Remodeling Industry) has approved our presentation-content classes for their Continuing Education Units.  Credits are granted as .1 unit per 50-minutes of presentation time.  Qualifying sessions include all financial management, accounting, and marketing seminars; it does not include coaching, showcase or networking sessions.
